Limitations
Men love to push the limits. I'll push the boundaries of my time, talent, and treasure persistently. This is precisely why men drive faster, spend more, and feel physically exhausted at the end of the day. But in our search for adventure as we push the limits, are we subsequently limiting our discernment? This wisdom saying of King Solomon is clear; each step you take is from the Lord. So why do we make choices that push our limits all the time? Could it be evidence of our desire to be like God?
Quit testing your limits and recognize your limitations. Ask God to clarify the next steps. Let Him order them. And then, in faith, take them one moment and one day at a time.
A man's steps are from the Lord;
how then can man understand his way?—Proverbs 20:24
DO THIS: Ask God to clarify the next steps.
PRAY THIS: God, in my uncertainty, impatience, or need to control, I will take steps without you. Instead, today will order my steps and guide me toward the decision and actions that honor you.
