For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

While you may think you can hide from God, the text above is clear there is no hiding from his penetrating truth. His spoken word is living, moving, sharp, and can pierce beyond action to the thought and intention of man. The idea of this should be comforting if you trust the God whose best interest is always in your favor.

Deep down it's also terrifying to know this, maybe because we know the intention of the heart is only evil continually. But the good news is the Word of God doesn't exclusively expose intentions it is also useful for our profit. A profit of righteousness. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16

DO THIS: Let the Word of God expose you and train you for righteousness.

PRAYER: God, I am frequently frightened of knowing you and even my own heart. Expose my heart, but develop and redirect it with your word.
