Love Unconditionally

"But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."—Romans 5:8

It's crazy that God loves us this way. It's love in spite of who we are or how we act. It's a love that beckons us to a relationship with him. It's what makes Christ attractive. It's what makes Christianity unique. It's rooted in a love relationship that God initiates; not man. God loves us in our current state. But this does not infer he wants us to remain in our current state. He wants his unconditional love to change our condition. He wants us to genuinely love him through acts of obedience, which is our way of demonstrating our inward love outwardly. But beware! For as soon as you desire conditioned responses to acts of your love, you rob love of its real power. So, today love mankind as God loves you—unconditionally—when conditions make it hard to love.

DO THIS: Love that unlovable person without conditions.

PRAYER: God, I don't love as you do. Help me to know the love that you extend, and help me to extend it without conditions.
