MEASURE UP
20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!” Galatians 2:20-21
Men are motivated by both performance and measurement.
As men, we want to win. Those wins look different for each, but something inside of us longs to improve and excel. We live in a competitive world that illustrates this in everything from business to recreation. Performing well and measuring up are on the minds of most men. While it is good to get better, nothing a man does can improve His standing before God.
The Law of God is a tool meant to show all men that there is no performance good enough for success. Paul says this very plainly. If we could become right before God based on our merit, Jesus died for nothing. What we could not do for ourselves, Christ did for us. It is "by grace through faith" that we are measured before God.
DO THIS TODAY: Thank Jesus that in Him, you measure up.
