Mixed Emotions

In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials.—1 Peter 1:6

This last year has produced a lot of emotions in men—more than we care to admit. We have felt many emotions all at the same time and on some days more than others. These emotions have the power to alter our gaze and make men confused, angry, and calloused. But Peter demands a positive response, one that's proactive yet still full of emotion. It's a response activated by the man who is fixed on the revelation of God in a time of various trials. And when we are fixed in faith in God when we have been grieved, we know a joy that leads to rejoicing.

ASK THIS: Are you full of emotion?

DO THIS: Fix your eyes on God, endure the suffering, and rejoice.

PRAY THIS: God, life is confusing, but you are not. Help me fix my eyes on you. Let me rejoice.

PLAY THIS: Lauren Daigle: Turn Your Eyes.
