He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20
Some things seem impossible to move, don't they? Difficult employees; stubborn children; broken appliances; heavy objects; visionless organizations; excessive weight on the barbell; you name it some things look impossible to move. But a "little faith" appears to have heaps of potential. Jesus promised that "faith like a grain of mustard seed," (which is about 1 millimeter in diameter) can accomplish impossible natural feats. He suggests that the force of a small quantity of faith has an enormous impact on "mountainous" circumstances.
If something looks impossible for you today, don't just see the possibilities, because faith is not the power of positive thinking. (Sorry, Norman Vincent Peale.) But instead, place your faith "in Christ" who makes all things possible. For it is the object of your faith, not just faith, that makes all the difference in moving impossible things.
DO THIS: Move it with faith in Christ.
PRAYER: God, when faith fails me, give me a little. And show me the enormous impact you can have on my mountainous circumstances!
