NAVIGATE CHANGE
23 As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you. And I will teach you the way that is good and right. 24 But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you. 25 Yet if you persist in doing evil, both you and your king will perish.”
1 Samuel 12:23-25
These are the words of a leader in transition. Samuel faithfully served God by leading Israel over many years, and now was his time to be done. A change was imminent, and Samuel navigated it with great wisdom. All men face moments of transition in life. Seasons come and go over the lifetime of every man. There is much wisdom to glean from Samuel when a change is on the horizon.
How we transition matters to God. Regardless of the reason for the change, prayer is essential. Taking time to acknowledge God's leadership and pray for those affected is a best practice. It is also critical to line up your actions behind God's leading. Fearing, serving, and giving Him your entire heart ensure your focus is set appropriately. And lastly, remember. Remember what God has done for you in the past and take time to reflect.
