Our Guide For Right Living
And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.—Ezekiel 36:26-27
We cannot live in obedience without God. In fact, he must perform a heart transplant. You see, we men have faulty hearts—hearts of stone. What we need are hearts that match best with the intended design, and only God can perform this surgical procedure because he is the designer and the surgeon of all things spiritual. And keep in mind God did not design us poorly, but instead, he knew we must learn our desperate need for dependence on him. Through this surgical procedure, we not only get a new heart, but we can also now walk in his statutes and obey his rules. And this is a fruitful way to live life as it was designed.
DO THIS: Let God transform the hard places in your heart.
PRAY THIS: God, give me a new heart and remove the stubborn, calloused, and obstinate places of my heart.
