PATH TO OBEDIENCE
6 Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them. 7 “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:6-9
Every instruction God had given to Moses up to this point was what God intended Joshua to follow. The point to catch here is that God gave direction to a man and laid out a path. And we know it was not a simple task because it required great strength and courage. God promises that following Him will be worthwhile even though it won't be easy. God tells Joshua what to do, obey, and how to do it, courageously. Joshua's task to follow God illustrates how we as men can rise to God's call.
Know that God does not hide from Joshua what it is he is supposed to do. God does everything to provide a path to obedience. He gives instruction, courage, and even His presence in the midst of it all. And because God does not change, we can expect God to provide us with everything we need to follow Him. Becoming God's man doesn't require clarity of call as much as it requires commitment and willingness. Present yourself eager to obey and watch God provide an opportunity to do so.
DO THIS TODAY: Ask God for a clear path to obedience and the strength to walk it.
