Payoff

Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. Galatians 6:7-9

As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem. Luke 9:51

There is no payoff without commitment.

There are two critical elements to success that are rarely celebrated. Patience and commitment are integral attributes directly related to the wages of any man. Jesus demonstrated great resolve both in His commitment to the obedience of the Father and patience during a great trial. Jesus was a resolute man.

Consider all the areas of your life where you have seen great success. Take the time to remind yourself that there is a recipe when it comes to a reward. Whether it is the grind of a workout or long hours doing a tedious job, there are no shortcuts to the rewards that come from hard work and persistent application. A man’s spiritual life is no different. Time and application are needed for the benefit to unfold. Do not lose heart and do demonstrate both patience and commitment as you walk with God.
