For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come. Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.  Hebrews 13:14-16

Future thinking enables present praise.

Sometimes I’m thinking ahead so far that I have a hard time being in any single moment. Thinking ahead does have a clear benefit. Pondering what is to come is ideal for developing a healthy perspective. From everything from work to family, thinking ahead helps give proper direction to any situation. If you know the goal, you know how each action ought to be framed. How does a future focus help us praise God?

With a firm assurance of a future life with God through Christ, we have a great reason to praise Him continually. It is a mindset that acknowledges what lies ahead in the future, giving the mind direction for every situation. This is the kind of faith that praises God even during a difficult moment. Doing so does not glaze over the challenge of that situation, but it does give proper perspective. Acknowledging God’s name, giving Him glory, is the most appropriate behavior for any man.

DO THIS TODAY: Praise God all day long.
