Pray For My Child

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6

A man wrote me an email yesterday. It was a request to pray for his adult son who has made some poor decisions and now is going to face some pending legal consequences. As a parent this day will come - it's unavoidable. It's the combination of human desires gone wild, poor subsequent choices, and consequences that sometimes leave a permanent scar on their lives and others. As a parent, if you are one, you will experience feelings of disappointment, discouragement, and anxiety mostly because there is nothing you can do. And while you will want to "be anxious about" the things you cannot control, the command is to "not be anxious." But rather turn to "prayer and supplication" which is the right response.

DO THIS: Let go of anxiety and pray for your children today.

PRAYER: God, I cannot control it, but you can. Use these teachable moments to bring our sons and daughters back to you, and release us of our anxiety as we watch you work.
