Raising Arrows from The Holy Dose

“Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one's youth”. -Psalm 127:4

Afraid to sleep in the dark basement, I wish I’d read my bible when I was a child. If I’d known Jesus and His Word the way I do now, darkness would have had zero chance. I’ve since trained my mind, and God has so transformed my thinking that I’ll repeat the name of Jesus in my bad dreams. I don’t have nightmares anymore.

The light of Jesus wins every time (James 4:7). He was there for me under the moonlight when I was outnumbered and jumped. There when I explored a new world 1,500 miles from childhood. There while I fought for holiness in my single years. There when I lost my first love, Mom, to cancer.

We get beat down, but we rise back up, launching another arrow at the enemy. We do not fight alone in the dark anymore. God is with us, for us, in us.

Raise up your arrows.

DO THIS TODAY: Consider reading “The Action Bible” to your kids. It's illustrated by Sergio Cariello, who has done work for Marvel Comics and DC Comics. My friend’s kids love it.
