Do You Need A Real Guarantee?
For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. — John 6:38-40
About ten years ago, I had this Ford F-150 SuperCrew. Then one day the engine suddenly lost almost all power only a few years into owning it. I drove it directly to the dealer, and in about an hour, they told me the news no owner wants to hear. The truck needed a new engine. The cost at that time was about $11,000. But I drove it straight to the dealer because it was less than 100 miles from exhausting the warranty. No, kidding, 100 miles expiring. And guess what. I got a brand-new engine for free. In addition, they punctured the radiator when they were taking the engine out. And I got one of those for free too.
Now that's different from how these stories play out, are they? Usually, what happens is everything breaks after the warranties and guarantees expire. That is because they are temporal things with temporary guarantees.
But that's not what we get with Jesus. With Jesus, we get a guarantee sealed by God. The point Jesus makes in this text is that God has given him the authority to guarantee some things to and for us. He has the power and authority to guarantee eternal life. He has come down. He will rise up. And we can raise up with him into eternal life. But we have to make a choice. We must look on him and believe in him to receive the guarantee and life.
No one is ever going to make you an offer that good. It's so good it's unbelievable. But the irony in this statement is that you have to believe in the unbelievable to receive it. And that's why some refuse to believe and will never receive.
ASK THIS: Do you fully believe in Jesus's unbelievable guarantee? What hinders your belief?
DO THIS: Believe and receive his words as your guarantee.
PRAY THIS: God, this is just too good not to believe.
PLAY THIS: Too Good to Not Believe.

Believe and receive…salvation!
“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith,
we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
through whom we have gained access by faith into
this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice
in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we
also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that
suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character;
and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us,
because God has poured out his love into
our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.”
—Romans 5:1–5
No better guarantee then Eternal Life. I look forward to our Lords coming and being with him. But till that day I need to make sure I let others know of this free gift. Thank Lord your Grace given to us through Jesus coming and fulfilling that on the Cross.
I truly believe that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior with all my heart and all my soul. God, this is just too good not to believe.
Amen
Just very grateful for the Father choosing me before the foundation, Jesus dying for my sin, The Holy Spirit living in me as a guarantee until we go to be with the Lord.
So grateful that eternal life is mine because of the shed blood of my Savior, Jesus!
I pray for more silence and meditation daily to grow in communion and trust in the One who gave all. May our thoughts men, increasingly align with His thoughts, and may our lives honor Him
Greg, you are so encouraging today. Thank you!
