RECEPTIVE TO GO

8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8

Isaiah received a vision of the Lord that most men would be envious of. Or would they? This vision was spectacular at first. It was a royal court scene in the temple with the Lord seated on the throne. Smoke was rising all around while creatures lifted their voices. Even the doorposts began to rattle. This sort of scene is one we can only picture in our minds, but to Isaiah, this was tangible. So tangible that, in fact, this vision caused him to see his ruin. He was fully aware of his inadequacy. How does a man go from ruined to receptive?

God provided for Isaiah's ability to receive the mission. The hope here is that God knew Isaiah had a problem and was willing to offer a solution. This was not the work of Isaiah; it was the work of God. Only God can set a man right. Isaiah's response, his awareness of his issues, paved the way for God to make a change. Recognize that it is only God who can make a man right. Become aware of your sin today and invite God to do a work in your heart so that you can respond like Isaiah.

DO THIS TODAY: Be receptive to go on God's behalf by letting Him cleanse your sin.
