More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.—Romans 5:11
Reconciliation to God produces something we all want—joy. Not temporal happiness but eternal joy. Joy is the endless free participation of living pardoned from all sin and with it enjoying ongoing intimacy and relationship with God. But this is only possible because of Jesus Christ—it's through him. It's a gift that the Reconciler could only give and that we must receive. If we knew how to do this, there would be no need for Jesus Christ, but because we don't know how to reconcile, he had to do it for us. So if you are ready to reconcile, the only way to do it is to receive it.
DO THIS: Reconcile one rebellious thought, attitude, or behavior and do the hard work of reconciliation.
PRAY THIS: God, there are parts of my heart that are unknown territory. It's wild and rebellious, and it's unreconciled. Awaken my mind and spirit to these places so that the world may know You have reconciled me.
