REFLECT ON WHY

10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. 11 And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.12 Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!”  Revelation 12:10-12

Salvation has come, and the power of God is present. In the book of Revelation, the scene of Jesus' arrival is painted in a unique way.  Jesus came into the world while the dragon, the accuser of man, sought to devour the child. At that moment, a great war breaks out in heaven, and the dragon is hurled to Earth. This scene is a portrayal of a spiritual battle that has a significant effect. Understanding the past struggle, the present reality, and the future result is imperative for every man.

The differences between victory and defeat are the blood of the Lamb and the testimony of the brothers. These men prioritized their lives lower than their testimony of Jesus Christ. What would cause a man to elevate the cause over his sense of self-preservation? Only if the hope witnessed in the person of Jesus is more significant than any other hope, does a man become willing to give up everything. Deeply consider the meaning of joining Jesus and prioritize your life accordingly.
