Pain That Incites A Search for Faith
So he came again to Cana in Galilee, where he had made the water wine. And at Capernaum there was an official whose son was ill. When this man heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went to him and asked him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. — John 4:46-47
This official was undoubtedly someone of substantial influence, skill, and knowledge. But here we see that he is driven to less than conventional means to seek healing for his son's condition. This is probably why John includes the story. John is aware that this is a powerful man in a desperate state. His son is knocking on death's door, and this is a father in extreme despair. He even makes a two-day journey knowing that his son may be dead when he returns. It's a one-day trip to Cana and a one-day return trip to Capernaum. This is a last-ditch effort for his dying son.
Every person in this life will meet with a moment similar to this. Maybe not exactly like it, but very similar. One that drives them to seek supernatural resolutions to situations and issues that cannot be resolved naturally. A moment where they have to deal with the fact that their ability, knowledge, and provision are limited. And what I love about Jesus is that he has both the answers and the healing we all need.

Lord God, Loving Father … I’m praying in agreement with Keith this morning, asking for an awakening in his wife’s heart to recognize the presence of your Spirit and be moved to trusting you for the free gift of salvation. You have said that you’re not willing that anyone should perish, so we claim and rest on that promise today. Whether physical healing comes, Lord, grant soul healing unto eternal life. Would you also grant deeper trust to Keith and a willingness to follow you in all things, Abba, for his good and your glory.
My marriage is at a point where only God can save it. I have surrendered it to God and acknowledge he is in control and I am not!

Requesting healing for my wife who has been chronically ill for several years. We have tried everything and pray often for her healing and endurance in the meantime. I wonder if there is some evil force that has hold of her mind/ heart (a lie, fear, etc.) that prevents the physical healing she desires. Regardless, it’s a strain on our marriage and her outlook on life. Lord help her!
Lord thank you for your love for Chad and his wife, your knowledge of that which we cannot see. Please reveal your truth to Chad’s wife or those you choose to minister to her, unleashing your power in this situation. Please embolden their faith, and expand their strength and peace.

I have full custody at this time and she was a very successful rn. I never thought she’d take this oath but here we are. Thanks for the prayers for my son Isaiah and me.

Yes I’ve asked to relive my pain. I’ve prayed, my wife has prayed, and my mother in law has prayed. I guess the answer is no. It’s ok I still love Jesus and I still Love God. According to 2 Corth. 12, 7-9, I’m not allowed to be pain free. Well I do say it is God grace that keeps me moving and keeps my attitude toward the happy end. But it still makes me mad that sometime that HE let’s Satan hurt me for HIS grace to be seen. It’s my burden I guess.
Daniel — praying that this truth comes to rest on you deeply: God doesn’t waste pain. Whatever is happening in this affliction, whether God is creating it or allowing it, keep trusting that he is always providing for your good and his glory. I see that you know this; I pray that you are able to rejoice in it, brother!

I would appreciate prayers for my state of mind. I am very unmotivated lately and I can’t seem to figure out why. My drive for school and working out seems to be going away and it scares me.

Thank you all for your prayers and words of encouragement. We serve a good God. He is faithful and He is with us and for us; He controls all things sovereignly amd providentially; I ask him for His strength, courage, endurance, comfort and His peace that surpasses all understanding, daily, and He has been faithful to provide it. He is a good, good Father; a waymaker, promise-keeper and miracle worker. We just need to stay focused on Him and not our circumstances; we need to stay in the present and His presence! Praise the Lord!
Today I pray for clarity and restoration. I’ve pushed my wife’s emotional needs to the sides in order to be successful professionally. She needs me to the the leader of the household and support her. I pray for her forgiveness and love and the clarity for the path of our lives together.
Lord bless John with passion to follow through, guided by your love. Continue to reshape his desires to do your will instead of what the world asks of us.
John Luke, I pray that God provide you clarity and that He gives you His wisdom as you seek it in faith. I also pray that you stand steadfast in the trials which will come as you strive to walk in the Spirit. I suggest that you sit down with your wife and admit your shortcoming , ask her for forgiveness and the ask her how can you make it better and be willing to listen. I took these steps in my marriage and we have come closer together.

I need healing in my heart, I very been on and off again follower of Jesus for 35 years now, I’m starting to have colon issues again so of course I ask Jesus for healing but my real issue is my consistency in following Him, thank you for praying.

I need healing from anxiety and worry about the future for my mom and children. I’ve tried every day to release this to God but it seems to not get any better and causes me sleepless nights which makes it worse. I know God can relieve me if this suffering but not matter what he remains my Rock. Pray for safety for my mom lining in a house by herself far away from us. Pray for my sister who battles severe depression. Pray for my son that he gives his life 100 percent to Christ. Pray for me that I can release this anxiety and get needed rest at night. Thank you.

I have been dealing with skin cancer for many years. Have had over a dozen Mohs surgeries so far. Four more surgeries are scheduled in the weeks ahead. So far, all cancers have been basil cell or scauamous and not Melanoma. Please pray for my healing, successful surgeries, and No Melanoma skin cancer. In Jesus mighty name I continue to pray…

Hello Vince: my name is Paul Eterno. I have a special needs child whose name is PJ. PJ is a out 5 or 6 years old cognitively, in a 36 year old body. He was born with multiple congenital anomalies, including a neuromuscular birth defect and cerebral palsy, and has been in a wheelchair all his life until he became extremely ill, bedridden, and requiring intermittent intensive care since November 2021. At that time, his muscles had deteriorated so much that he could no longer swallow, aspirated, and had double pneumonia.
He was intubated and placed on a vent
in November 2021, and received a
tracheotomy that same month. He
continues to remain in that state of
health to this day. We have been praying
to God for healing – that Jesus would
either perform a miracle and heal him here, or take him home and heal him. Thank you for your prayers!🙏✝️
Paul, Although I have no idea how difficult this must be, know that I will be praying and believing for PJ, his much needed miracle, and God’s divine strength to clothe you and your family. I’m praising God with you that this life, even when it seems interminable, is truly short, and eternity is permanent. Thank you, Jesus, for your provision and thank you that, in suffering we become more like you. Grant renewed hope in Paul today!

Father God, I come to your throne , and I stand with Paul in agreement as we pray for healing for PJ. Lord, I have seen you work miracles through your righteous seeking you in prayer and I ask that your healing touch reach PJ. Father I also ask that you provide Paul and his wife with your peace and comfort as they navigate through the trails and the process of seeking out the medical needs of their son. Where do I start? First for my continued recovery from sexual sin, the shame and guilt. For a stronger faith. Prayers to lead my family so the devil doesn’t My lack of leadership has allowed the devil a foot hold in my family. Kids that struggle with believing there is a God after what I have done. For my wife who has so much emotional pain that it is now causing physical pain and her health is declining. To say I need a miracle would be an understatement.
Also for other family members with their own health and family issues.
Jesus, I can’t do it with out you. Please come rescue, save, and heal all the brokenness.

Pray for healing for a friend who had a brain aneurysm he will be in intensive care for 20 days because of meds for brain spasms. My sister sore on feet for the pain and miraculous healing and circulation to her feet because of diabetes. Wisdom to doctors for her care.

My “thorn” was a cute anxiety related to insomnia. Never dealt with anything like that. The mind is a dangerous thing without sleep. Through prayer and supplication the greatest physician healed. Much more to the story but it turned out to be a blessing.
