Seduction Of Sin

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.—Genesis 3:6

There are no new tactics. Only old tactics manifest in many different forms. And isn't it interesting that "eating" is defined by God as the first prohibition? Yet not all eating was prohibited, only eating from one tree. But isn't it that which is off limits that you want the most? "Goods, delights, and desires" used, or better misused, for individual gain. So what is it that you want? What's your fruit of choice? Advancement. Power. Control. Intimacy. Fulfillment. For what do you lust that you do not currently have? What is it that is out of your reach? For a moment, forget the result of your sin—just answer this question—what "goods, delights, and desires" trigger your sin? This is the predictive problem. Address this, because this is your seduction.

DO THIS: Identity what seduces you.

PRAYER: God, help me to see not only the impact of my sin, but what triggers my sin. Make it clear. And guide me toward more holy desires.
