Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near. Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously. “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:6-9

When is the best time to seek for God? The best time is now. When should I call on Him? The very moment the thought of asking God comes to mind, do it. Isaiah is plainly telling his audience to drop what they are doing and search out God. Distraction, hesitancy, and apathy threaten to rob us of what God is waiting to respond with.

What is the one thing that prevents a man from finding God? Failing to seek for Him. As finite beings, we have a limited lifespan and can only occupy one space at a time. That means our opportunity to find God is now. The exhortation Isaiah is leveling towards his listener is intended to spur on a search. The encouraging news is that God is merciful, forgiving, and generous! Take some time today to seek for God.

DO THIS TODAY: When God crosses your mind, call on Him.
