Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.

James 3:13

A man is not proven by what he knows, or even what he says. A man is proven by what he does. The Bible is clear that doing makes the difference. James had a front row seat to the life of his brother, Jesus. The goodness of God’s Son was on full display right before this Biblical writer’s eyes. What did James learn? God's man is tested by acting.

James measures a wise man by deeds done in humility. Being humble means thinking of yourself with "low importance." As you move about your day today, remember the words of Paul in Philippians 2:3, "Rather, in humility value others above yourselves." Find ways to value others as if they are the most important person in the room. In love, be like Jesus to those around you. Consider them above yourself.
