SHED LIGHT

44 And Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me. 45 And whoever sees me sees him who sent me. 46 I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. 47 If anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. 48 The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.

John 12:44-48

Jesus was the perfect example of a man who understood the mission. This mission both revealed God and His plan of salvation. The mission of Jesus brought light into the world so that darkness and all its effects, would not prevail. Belief in Jesus brings salvation and sight. Darkness causes confusion and poor decisions, but the clarity of light brings freedom.

All men wrestle with seeing clearly. Questions about who they are and what they are meant to do swirl in the minds of men at the most honest and sobering moments.  Jesus paints a picture of focused determination. As you prepare to lead those around you through the Easter season, be as focused as Christ in revealing the meaning of celebrating His death and resurrection. Shed light on the season by purposefully being a disciple of Jesus to all those around you. Be prepared to explain the hope you have in Christ.

DO THIS TODAY: Pray that God would give you an opportunity to shed the light of Christ.
