So You Had A Bad Day

ENGLISH

After this Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth. — Job 3:1

I want to say how grateful I am for Job. I think this man is exceptional. And I cannot wait to meet him in eternity. He endured events that I am not sure I would ever be able to endure. Nor would I wish these events even on an enemy. Job's lost just about everything. And I mean everything. Cattle, servants, land, and family. He's suffering horrific boils all over his body. He's got a wife who wants him to give up. And he's got three close friends that are going to say some pretty damning things to him. Satan has been relentless. I would assume Job feels pretty lonely.

Well, in chapter three, Job lets us know how lonely he is. He sings a sad song. And I am so glad he does. He needs to break the silence. He needs to cry out.

But there is something noticeable about chapter three. Job never curses God. He curses the day he was born — but never God. Even in the loneliness on the brink of death and excruciating pain, this man will not quit. He will not give up. He will not give in. He sings a sad song and hopes his life will end. But death never comes.

But hang on.

Do you realize that in just one more long day, after forty chapters of long dialogue, Job is going to have the most brilliant day ever. Just one day after singing this song, he's going to talk with God face to face.

So if you are having a bad day and feeling lonely, try this: have faith in God by hanging on one more day. You too may have a brilliant day — God may show up and do something wonderful.

ASK THIS: Are you singing a sad song today?

DO THIS: Hang on one more day! (If you need prayer, let me know in the comments below)

PRAY THIS: God, help me to hang on one more day!

PLAY THIS: Bad Day.

3 months ago my parents were in a bad car accident in which my dad was as at fault. My mom passed and my dad wishes he had. They were married for 66 years and did everything together. My siblings and I have been with him nearly 24/7 for the last three months and it is wearing on us and our families tremendously. He is currently at home and needs 6 different eyedrops multiple times per day for glaucoma and an impending complex cataract surgery. Dad is very critical/ornery and we are having a hard time since we have been so busy trying to help/console him that we have not had an opportunity to grieve the loss of mom ourselves. Last night I lost patience with my dad and we had an argument over something as stupid as a card game. I know our struggles are not even remotely close to Job’s, but we need help. Please pray for my family.

I am so so sorry for this double loss. I lost my dad in an a cident where mom was driving.
The self imposed guilt was very tough. She was old school, wouldn’t seek counseling.
I certainly have a wee glimpse of your stress.
Care for the caregiver (you) is vital. Please seek help. Thus can be for physical help (hired hand) , or emotional help.
Know you are loved.

Thanks for the support Dennis. It’s nice to know I’m not alone. One day at a time!

I have not had the best start to my work day because I haven’t been able to start working. my computer at the remote office, I work from home (and have for years, before COVID), died this morning, but the other folks that ARE in the remote office have been working to fix the problem. Thank You God for however this ends up working out today and help me to stay focused on You today, not my current problem. amen.

It’s going to be a great day!

Dennis

Bad days will happen or at least the enemy will try and trip you up with one. I start everyday saying”it’s going to be a great day” . If you can start your day saying this and saying it with meaning , along with giving the first part of day by spending time with God in prayer and scriptures , even what may seem like a bad day will be better. It’s all about focus,
