Sometimes It's Better That You Don't Know
So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. — Acts 1:6-7
There are some things we don't know. And maybe for a good reason. For example, I really don't want to know when I'm going to die. Or when my wife is going to die. Or when my kids or going to die. These are times and events that are outside of my ability to know. And I am glad I don't know when these things. And I think God does this for two reasons. First, the unknown activates our faith in God. Therefore we must trust in him with the things he has not made known. Second, this does not suggest that God makes everything unknowable. In fact, there are some pretty spectacular things he has made known. For example, God has made known the Son, his message, and what he is about to disclose next in the following text — the promised Holy Spirit. These things are wonderful to know. But he knows they are enough for us to handle knowing.
So when you discover that there is something you do not know, like:
- How your marriage is going to make it.
- Where you are going to find your next source of income.
- Or how you are going to overcome another health challenge.
Know that you can ask God to make it know. But remember, sometimes God's not going to let you know. And when he doesn't, you need to trust him even more — not less. At this moment, you need trust in what he has made known to you and have faith in a God who knows all things.
ASK THIS: Is there something you don't know that you want to know from God? Have you asked him? (Share that below and let's all pray for each other together)
DO THIS: Trust in him whether he answers or not.
PRAY THIS: God, I am asking you to help me today. Make know to me what I desire to know. And strengthen my faith where you will not tell me what I want to know.
PLAY THIS: Yes and Amen.

What’s my purpose? Will I share my life with someone.

Here in Alberta (Happy Canada Day). We have lifted all Covid-19 protocols. I don’t if that’s a good idea; but I know God helped me keep my head above the high waters the pandemic brought and I know I can trust him as life returns to something more normal going foward.

There is a song that has the line “the memories of His faithfulness”. Men look for proof . Well the memories of when God has been faithful in our life is the proof. But memories are in the heart, while proof is generally intellectual. Listen to your heart and let those memories keep you looking at God

Yes! God knows , we don’t . Vince, this devotional couldn’t be more timely as we seek out God to remove the evil from our government and restore our nation. I believe we are going through these trials as a nation because God trying to get our attention and wants us to depend on Him. Come on Church, arise Warriors.
my wife is in a transition to try to get a new job, but neither of us knows whether she will get the job or stay stuck at a job she kind of likes with people she does not like and a long commute or whether she will be able to shorten her commute and work with different people who are HOPEFULLY better at doing their jobs than her current coworkers.
Brother , we must completely surrender to God all of our cares and concerns. Only when we surrender completely will God be able to act on our behalf to perform His Word. We must try , as difficult as it is at times , to remember that God is a just God. His ways are not our ways. Bottom line is that God answers the fervent prayers of a righteous man. Keep on praying and surrender the situation to God.
The deep desire in my heart for both of my kids to be able to afford to enroll in and graduate from a Christian college.
I recently went through a divorce which has left me spiritually, mentally, financially, physically exhausted and broken. My son is now with me less than half of the time. I’ve moved twice the last 30 days and will have 1 more move in a few months. I’m asking God to know when and how restoration and rebuilding will begin. My heart is overwhelmed for the best interest of my son. Unfortunately he is being used as a pawn and not being fully protected when he’s not with me.
I started a new job that I love. There were a series of events that led me away from my former job to this job and I felt God move in every aspect of those events. However, this job is more mentally demanding. I pray that God gives me the knowledge, patience, and growth to get comfortable with doing this new job. I pray that He reveals to me what I need to know to be successful in this job. I pray that He goes before me in every situation and prepares hearts and minds for me.
I don’t know when my children and siblings will come to faith in Christ because this weighs heavy on me. I would love to spend eternity knowing they are there with me.
God I pray for direction and healing in my marriage. Strength for me as I heal and grow. Courage to change so I can repair what I have done and walk with my wife through this time. Finally for peace knowing you are in control during this storm.
Praying for you this morning. Nothing is beyond Gods ability to do, including covering over the hurt with his love
When and who God will lead to me to hire.
If, when and how salvation may occur in members of my family and others I know…. Some seem so lost
Lord I thank you for the mercy and grace I have found in you and trust you will pursue them as well
