Creating Spiritual Momentum

ENGLISH

Now as Peter went here and there among them all, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda. There he found a man named Aeneas, bedridden for eight years, who was paralyzed. And Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you; rise and make your bed.” And immediately he rose. And all the residents of Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord. — Acts 9:32-35

You know, sometimes we get stuck. We feel like our spiritual lives are stagnate, stalled, and stale. And I know because I have been there. And often, this happens because we have not taken the initiative to create new spiritual momentum. We have become too routine, hoping the same old spiritual practices will produce new results. And fella's this is the definition of not insanity, but stupidity.

Yet this is what I love about Peter. He is a man who is always on the move. And for the next few chapters, this man will be all over the place, encountering all sorts of interesting people in unique situations. And thus, this is a man who has a lot of spiritual momentum. And you know what a man with spiritual momentum does? He creates spiritual momentum for others. This is precisely what happens here. Peter is on the move, so Aeneas becomes a man on the move — both physically and spiritually, which has a snowball effect on others.

With a start of a new season upon us, I want to challenge you today to do something new to initiate spiritual momentum in your life. Share a post. Serve a brother. Offer encouragement. Pray for someone. Give to a ministry. Just do something spiritually. Do something adventurous. Get out of your comfort zone and initiate new spiritual momentum. And then take notice because the momentum you create might be multiplied by the Spirit of God.

ASK THIS: What one small thing are you going to do to create some spiritual momentum today? (Share below)

DO THIS: Do it, and share it.

PRAY THIS: God, get me out of my comfort zone. Use me to initiate spiritual momentum. And I pray it will affect me and others.

David, I will pray for you and your wife at this moment!
Father God , as David and others deal with loved ones who are attacked by cancer and other sickness, I pray you would provide healing and the gift of your presence in the lives of all who are affected. Knowledge of you is all the medicine we can ask for. May we share with others, the gift of your love and mercy. I ask this in Jesus’s name!

My wife Eva had cancer in her tongue. In November they operated to remove that portion of her tongue. She completed her radiation therapy and is currently dealing with all the affects left after beating cancer for the second time. Chronic pain, a soreness behind her tongue and resisted mobility of her jaw. I pray daily asking for the Lord to totally heal her and get her out her pain and suffering. I also thank the Lord for all the healing he has done. When I am asked how my wife is I give all the glory to God for all the healing she has received and ask them all to continue to pray for total healing. I work with incarcerated juveniles and some have told they do not believe but after I share my story they have told me they pray for her. Hopefully this is the beginning of their walk with the Lord. Please pray for my wife Eva’s total healing. Amen.

unfortunately I have been stale/dead. I was in leadership in the church that my grandfather, mother, and my self grew up in. The “Pastor” would be doing is sermon, all I heard was “BALH BLAH BLAH” . So I’d pick up the bible that was in the pew and read. BUT because of my state of spirituality I wasn’t getting anything. I then felt the nudge from God to get out. That was about 20 years ago. The church that God put me in I got back that spark. I immediately joined the men’s fellowship, and was part of the leadership team. For about a year and a half now am a Deacon. And LOVING SERVING AGAIN
