The Starting Line

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and instruction." Proverbs 1:7

Often you will not know where to begin or what to do. But fear not, for fear "is the beginning." But it's not human fear you are after - it's holy fear. Fear of something greater. Fear of something more holy. Fear of an object more terrifying that your current situation or challenge. It's fear "of the Lord." When you know not where to turn just begin at this point. It's where all good things begin, and in this case, it is where "knowledge" begins.

If you are desperate for "knowledge" today with a situation that vexes you, why not give it a try? Why not begin with God and reverent fear, and see if "knowing" him first, does not lead you to the "knowledge" you seek. After all only a "fool despises wisdom and instruction" of this nature. Your choice is to be a "fear" or "fool." Don't be the latter.

DO THIS: Start with God.

PRAYER: God, may I turn to you when I fear a situation or person today and when I do teach me your wisdom and give me instruction.
