Stay Far From Disobedience

ENGLISH

So Delilah said to Samson, "Please tell me where your great strength lies, and how you might be bound, that one could subdue you."—Judges 16:6

This part of Samson's story is perhaps the most infamous. With Delilah, he has finally met the match of his superhuman strength. After a lot of coercion, he gives in to her ploys to uncovering the secret to his great strength, and finally, he is detained and captured.

While the fall of this great man is disappointing, the lesson is great—men of renowned strength stay far from sin. Also, they should even stay far from the things and people that will tempt them to sin. Samson's weakness was a beautiful woman, and you think he would have known that by this point in his life. But in his arrogance, he thought he could walk the line, and in the adventure of those moments, he kept getting closer and closer to sin. Instead, he should have run further and faster—which is what strong men do.

DO THIS: Know your weakness and flee immorality.

PRAY THIS: God, give me the courage and great strength to run from sin.
