Stick Closer
A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.—Proverbs 18:24.
We have all had a moment where we've been disappointed in a friend. Maybe they've failed to deliver on a promise, embellished an untruth, spoken a word of gossip, said something hurtful, or merely left you out. Frequently we jump to several conclusions, including "What's wrong with me?" This thought is followed by feelings of frustration, anger, and resentment, and before you know it, our thoughts cycle entirely around ourselves. When you find yourself doing this, consider less what others need to do to be better friends. Instead, consider what you need to do to be a good friend—or maybe make better friends. Because there is "a friend, who sticks closer than a brother."
DO THIS: Be a friend by telling a friend thank you for their friendship today.
PRAYER: God, bring friends into my life that make me better. And help me to be the best of friends.
