Stop The Progression Of Evil
The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.—Proverbs 28:1
The world has plenty of villains; those who intentionally execute evil. And the world has plenty of cowards; those who intentionally execute evil by doing nothing. The latter is often worse than the first because this person sits idly aside knowing the truth, conscious stricken, and choose to do nothing with it. A classical Greek Philosopher once said, "A third of people are villains, a third are cowards, and a third are heroes. Now, a villain and a coward can choose to be a hero, but they’ve got to make that choice.”
But cowardice is not a new problem; it's an old one. When a man is empowered with morality and mission and sits idly aside, he's giving power to wickedness which results in aimless pursuits. And these aimless pursuits leave men feeling the weight of fear thus fleeing in every direction. Every man has experienced the guilt and shame that goes with cowardice. So why allow these thoughts, feelings, and be to continue to control your life? Be brave. Be courageous. Do something "bold as a lion" today.
DO THIS: Reflect on a moment you act cowardly—and then be bold instead.
PRAY THIS: God, help me to stand up for your righteousness with my friends, colleagues, and family members. Even more, silence the inner voice that prompts me to shrink back and flee when faith is needed. Build boldness, courage, and faith in me on my path to being a better man.
