Store It Within

My son, keep my words
and treasure up my commandments with you.
—Proverbs 7:1

Some treasures we are quick to spend, others we invest, but this one we store up (keep) within. For when we store them up, their value multiplies in impact—on us first and then on others. They are words of wisdom to which we should not quickly pass over but bury in the deep within our soul. These words tell a timeless truth. They should direct and guide our life. They are words written exclusively for men. We should perhaps read them many times and burn them in our hearts. King Solomon thought they were so vital he dedicated an entire chapter to this one topic. But have you read them? Do you know the wisdom of Solomon, or will these words pass you by?

DO THIS: Read Proverbs 7

PRAY THIS: God, may I ever hide the words of King Solomon within my heart. Amen.
