Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.   Proverbs 13:20

Men are influenced by their relationships. The friends that surround us have an impact on both our activity and our thinking. If you were to spend time with a generous man, his generosity would inspire a similar response in your life. If your running buddy always talked about his devotional life, this would prompt your heart to seek God devotionally. It is inevitable that we are influenced by those we spend time with. We can't change that God designed us to be influenced by others. We can choose who to spend time with.

Being intentional about who you spend time with will change your life. Consider men that you know to be godly both in action and in thought. Take time to sit down with them for coffee or invite them to participate with you in an activity you both enjoy. Always be looking out for those relationships. Also, evaluate if you are that kind of man. Take steps to grow in wisdom, spending time in God's Word and courageously stepping out in faith. Walk with the wise and become wise.
