Talk About Them

"And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”—Deuteronomy 6:6-7

If you are a follower of God, you already know this—God knows all things. And one thing God knows about you is that you'll talk about the things you care about. He also knows that when you talk about things you care about the likelihood that you'll do them goes way up. The text above is called the Shema in the Hebrew language and is urging men, husbands, and fathers to keep the commandments of God. He instructs you to bury them deep in your heart. But also, the command is for you to talk of them when you sit, walk, lie, and rise. Consider this: talk about the things you want to accomplish this year. Talk about them everywhere, and talk about God's involvement with them as a witness to his work and faithfulness in your life.

DO THIS: Talk about God and his work everywhere you go.

PRAYER: God, give me the courage to talk about my goals, and then provide you with credit as you accomplish great deeds in and through me this year.
