Tempting Temptations

"And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”—Matthew 6:13

We will never be devoid of temptation. There is no easy journey in our pilgrimage of faith. It's full of tension. And the tension is discovered in the trials that produce temptations. Satan, the tempter, will tempt frequently. And while God allows space for these trials of faith, God seduces no man. "Let no one say when he is tempted, 'I am being tempted by God,' for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one" (James 1:13). Instead, God gives way for these trials and the opportunity for supernatural deliverance. They often become testimonies of God's glory and personal faith.

"No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation, he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13).

DO THIS: Give notice to God's work in the trial.

PRAY THIS: God, may the trials of my life be opportunities for the Spirit's victory in me but evidence of your glory in my frailty.
