You Are Righteous So Give Thanks

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. — 2 Corinthians 5:21

This is as good as it gets for sinful humanity. God resolves the sin issue, instigated by us, that separates us from him by addressing the problem himself. He comes to our rescue by taking sin upon himself. Like any good father, he did it for our sake so that we might become His righteousness.

Our former reality was marked by sinfulness. Our new reality is marked by His righteousness. But we have to choose to embrace this identity and live in it daily. And one way we demonstrate that we understand this is by telling our Good Father thanks.

Today give your Father a shout of praise and thanks for doing something for you that you could not do yourself — saving you from sin and death and taking the issue upon himself.

ASK THIS: How has God made you his righteousness? (Share it below.)

DO THIS: Play the song below and sing the Father's praise.

PRAY THIS: God, thank you for removing sin from me. For taking it on yourself. And for calling me righteous.

PLAY THIS: My Righteousness — Go Deep.

God had taught me the importance of turning to him for my validation as a man, husband, dad and grandfather. That was my game changer!

God has helped me cut through the divisiousnes of our culture and helped me see all men are His creation whether I agree with them or not.

  5. Chad says:

God has knocked down my own perfectionist and legalistic mindsets and brought in mercy and love which covers my sin, he did all this yet he never dropped the standard but actually increased the standard. This is amazing to me how he can open up a sinful heart pour in Grace and his Spirit into an earthen vessel and make me come face to face with my sin but in a way that he overcomes it when I come in unison with his word.
