I Could Not Be Thankful Until Grace Found Me
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. — Ephesians 2:8-9
Nothing could be more precise. It is God's grace that saves mankind. It's not our righteous deeds but His righteous work of grace. It's not our doing. It's His doing. And this is because there was nothing good in us, so we have nothing to boast about. But while we cannot boast about our works, we can boast about his works. We can boast about the salvation we enjoy and the grace God extended to us. And while others may not understand what we enjoy in this gift, God does, and we should be thankful for this.
Today tell God thank you for the grace extended to you. The undeserved favor he gave to you that you did not deserve. Identify a specific act of his grace in your life, and then tell God thanks. And then extend this same grace to someone else: your spouse, kids, friends, or a coworker. Become a thankful person who lives in God's grace that extends his gift to others who might praise God as well.
