I Could Not Be Thankful Until Grace Found Me

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. — Ephesians 2:8-9

Nothing could be more precise. It is God's grace that saves mankind. It's not our righteous deeds but His righteous work of grace. It's not our doing. It's His doing. And this is because there was nothing good in us, so we have nothing to boast about. But while we cannot boast about our works, we can boast about his works. We can boast about the salvation we enjoy and the grace God extended to us. And while others may not understand what we enjoy in this gift, God does, and we should be thankful for this.

Today tell God thank you for the grace extended to you. The undeserved favor he gave to you that you did not deserve. Identify a specific act of his grace in your life, and then tell God thanks. And then extend this same grace to someone else: your spouse, kids, friends, or a coworker. Become a thankful person who lives in God's grace that extends his gift to others who might praise God as well.

ASK THIS: What grace has God extended to you? (Share it below.)

DO THIS: Tell God thanks for this grace and then extend that grace to others.

PRAY THIS: God, thank you for your grace to me. I do not deserve it.

Thank You God for extending forgiveness to me EVERY time I sin and still loving me completely. Please help me, with the Holy Spirit that dwells in me, to extend this same grace to MY children when they do the wrong thing. Help me to keep loving them THROUGH their mistakes as You love me through mine. Amen.

This summer I was doing mission work in Tanzania, East Africa. In the major city myself and two others were in these tiny vehicles called Tuk Tuks. One night we were sideswiped off the road and down a 10-12ft slope and should have crashed. God protected the car from crashing. Only myself had any trace of injusy in whiplash. We should have gone flying. We should have been seriously hurt or even killed. By God’s grace along were we saved. And to top things off, next day we had a plane ride back to Canada. He healed my whiplash for the duration of the flight. God is the only reason I’m still alive and well today. Praise the Lord!
