The All In Heart
You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.—Jeremiah 29:13
Going all-in begins with a search; an all-out search. We have such divided hearts as men. But our hearts are only divided over two pursuits—the pursuit of self or the pursuit of God. Because the lure of the self is so strong, we must have an undivided heart to pursue God. The irresistible pull of self is working on our heart, mind, and soul deep within our desires. So each day, we must choose to seek and find with all that we have. We must be tireless in this pursuit when the "self" beckons. And it will sound its voice in a private sense of loneliness, in a moment of injustice at work, in a moment that a child is disobedient, or when our spouse lashes out. We will want to seek self. So in these moments, we have a choice; we can go all-in for self, or all-in for God.
DO THIS: Go all-in for God.
PRAY THIS: God, when that irresistible pursuit of self calls to today, help me to shun its voice and go all-in for you.
