The Almighty
When Abram was ninety-nine years old the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless—Genesis 17:1
This is the first occurrence of this name of God in the Bible. It's the name "Almighty" which translated from ancient Hebrew means, "The God who is enough."
This is God letting Abram know right before he was about to bless him, "He is enough for him in every way, during every obstacle, and in every situation. That he will also walk before him, and the shadow of his presence will protect him and make him blameless."
And so, the God of Abram is the same God today. He is still enough for the problems, issues, and challenges of this day. So walk in his ways, and follow right behind him, in the shadow of his character, attributes, and virtue—and be blameless.
DO THIS: Walk right behind God.
PRAY THIS: God, sometimes I don't follow close behind you. May today be different. Please make your way right before me and cover me in the shadow of your blamelessness.
