The Best Seat
But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.—Ephesians 2:4-6
Ever had a front-row seat at a sporting event? Or even better, right on the field? If not, you will get a first-class pass to the best seat in the house. It's a seat at the table with Christ in the heavenly kingdom. And remember you don't have to work for it or earn it; he paid fully for this seat out of the riches of his mercy. And while you don't deserve it because of your former trespasses, he extends his great love to you and wants you to sit right next to him.
ASK THIS: Why do you question your seat at the table?
DO THIS: Accept his invitation.
PRAY THIS: God, thank you for the rich love and mercy you extend to me. I am frequently baffled by this, but thanks for providing me an undeserved seat at the table.
PLAY THIS: Kim Walker: Throne Room
