"being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy."—Colossians 1:11

When the diagnosis comes in, it can be startling, surprising, even shocking. Coming face-to-face with our mortality was designed to elicit this response. However, how we respond to mortality is different than others. For the man of God, grabs mortality by the collar, pulls it close, and looks dead in the eyes. With confidence he knows something that others fail to recognize—he is strengthened with "all power, according to his glorious might." And with this confidence come certain dividends including "endurance, patience, and joy" for the journey. So man of God, do not lose heart in your diagnosis, God diagnosis is different—"be strengthened."

DO THIS: Be strengthened by God.

PRAYER: God, in the face of my mortality, challenges, and suffering I choose to laugh today knowing you have the upper hand and will strengthen me for the coming season.
