The Flood Past
With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of debauchery, and they malign you.—1 Peter 4:4
We each have our own flood of evil pursuing us. For many of us, our former ways come flooding back in moments we least expect it. But they always come back in the same way—through past relationships we once enjoyed. And then because of your changed life, these people are surprised by your new language, attitude, outlook, and salvation. Their old ways are unchanged and they seek to malign you. But hold fast brother. Don't align with them.
ASK THIS: What and who is your flood?
DO THIS: Refuse to align and thus be misaligned.
PRAY THIS: God, surround me with Christian brothers and keep the wave of sin from flooding back.
PLAY THIS: Jars of Clay. Flood.
