God has now revealed to us his mysterious will regarding Christ—which is to fulfill his own good plan. And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth. Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan. Ephesians 1:9-11
God has a plan that has yet to be fully realized.
Every guy makes plans. We make them for work, family, hobbies and many other areas in life. Often, we make plans that do not make sense to others until they are fully executed. When I was a young boy, my dad took me hunting in Canada. I had never been there before, but I was full of curiosity and anticipation. The hours of driving left me in a position to trust my dad that this would be good. I knew the plan, but I had never been to Canada before to go hunting. In the same way, faith means we trust what God is doing when we can’t fully comprehend the plan.
Children are in a position to trust adults because they have not experienced years of life. Jesus celebrates child-like faith, and I believe that it is his gentle way of telling us we just don’t know. The same way my dad knew I would love what I had yet to experience, God knows the plan and sees that this is what we ultimately desire. We need to trust Him.
DO THIS TODAY: Believe God knows the plan and is working it in a way that will bring us great joy.
