The Polar Vortex
"By the breath of God ice is given,
and the broad waters are frozen fast." — Job 37:10
What appears to be a blast of polar wind is moving across our country. Whether you want it or not, it's going to bear down. It is an unstoppable force, an act of God—not "mother nature." Even Elihu, a friend to Job, understood this as he spoke the words above to his friend Job. And this week God's divine providence is unveiling itself through something we cannot see but can feel. As "the breath of God" moves you will feel a noticeable impact with these dropping temperatures. Why? Because when God breathes, things happen. And while you may not see it, you will feel it. In the Old Testament, the word for "breath" or "wind" was "ruach"—meaning God's life force which set things in motion. As you experience this polar vortex remember there is another force at work that evidences even more power, and it lives within you. "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God?"—1 Corinthians 6:19
DO THIS: Let the power of God breathe through you.
PRAYER: God, unleash your Spirit within me. May I be a force, for you, and your purposes.
