"Let the lowly brother boast in his exaltation, and the rich in his humiliation, because like a flower of the grass he will pass away." James 1:9-10

You are always pursuing something. But don't forget the pursuit will define you. While outsiders might see you as a brother of "lowly" position because your pursuit is not material gain, in reality, they are misinformed. For in their pursuit of riches that feeds their pride they may be consumed with things that "will pass away" and thus be walking a path toward "humiliation." Don't be that guy. Get over your need to pursue the thing of this world and pursue something that matters.

PRAYER: God, this world is enticing. Its riches and glories are immediate and rewarding to my need for affirmation and personal satisfaction. May I be satisfied in you today as I pursue things of eternal value.
