The Thankful Friend
For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers—Ephesians 1:15-16
I love the spirit of Paul at this moment. His tone is enthusiastic. He moves from a coach to a champion of the Ephesian believers. And he's thankful. He gives thanks because he hears something about this church from other people. It's two-fold. First, how great a faith they have in the Lord. Second, of their love for each other. I can see Paul, pumping his fist in the air and shouting, "Yes! Yes!" And he's so excited to tell them that's he has been thankful for them in Christ.
When's the last time you have told a friend "thanks" for all the wonderful things they do? Take some time today to do just that.
