The Value of Attention
"So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11
There are so many things in the world vying for our attention. One of them is your email. And as quick as you delete one, another one arrives. So let me ask, have you ever stopped to consider how much of your attention is consumed on meaningless email? Have you ever considered quantifying the value of the emails you send and the ones you receive? Remember your attention has value, as does the attention you want from others. You should quantify it. Give it a monetary value. Daily assess it. Invest it. And spend it wisely. Know the value of your attention and that which you want from others. And in the end, know that God's word has a rich value and "it shall not return to me empty."
DO THIS: Give value to your attention and your words.
PRAYER: God, I pray today that each word I speak will be valuable and each word I hear will be a worthy investment.
