Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

Where does your time go on a day to day basis? Not a day goes by that someone or something demands my time. If I am not careful, I can quickly get to the end of the day and find myself discouraged that I did not stay on mission. Time is the great equalizer because everyone has the same amount of time in a day, but not everyone spends it the same way.

When Jesus came down as flesh, He subjected Himself to the same 24 hours of daily time as any man would experience. Jesus began His day in prayer. Behind His resolute resolve, Jesus connected with the Father. This time spent in prayer was foundational to His mission and was a best practice. Even before and on the cross, He prayed.
