Together Members
"For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function" Romans 12:4
You are unique and do not have the same "function" as another brother in Christ. And while your function makes you special, don't let it go to your head. For the "body" of Christ functions with "many members." Each of these members needs the other to operate at optimum levels. It also appears there's an assumed output that occurs when you learn to function as one rather than as an independent unit. There's a payoff from being a member - it's spiritual meaning and significance. Conversely, there's a payoff from independence - it's sin and self-centeredness. So today choose to place yourself in proximity with another brother. Lean on him and find pleasure, power, and purpose in the interdependence of being a single member of something better.
DO THIS: Lean on a brother and be better.
PRAYER: God, too often I try to do life all alone. I can see this is not the best choice. I need brothers, other members, to make me better. Show me today what I can do to lean on a brother and be a brother for someone else.
