Trust

"Cursed are those who trust in mere mortals and make mere flesh their strength, whose hearts turn away from the LORD. They shall be like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see when relief comes. They shall live in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land. Blessed are those who trust in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD." —Jeremiah 17:5-7

Trust is an economy, one that can that receives regular deposits and withdrawals based on three actions. Integrity, the degree to which you do what you say you will do leads to deposits or withdrawals of trust. Talent, the degree of mastery you have of your God-given talents leads to deposits or withdrawals of trust. Care, the degree to which you show gratefulness for others leads to deposits or withdrawals of trust. In the end, as a mortal man, you will make a few deposits over time and many withdrawals. You are after all "mortal." But God, he can be trusted every time. His faithfulness never ends and "blessed are you when you trust in Him."

DO THIS: Trust in God, not in mortal, dying man.

PRAYER: God, turn my ears deaf to the ways of man.
