Two Humble Men Make A Great Duo
And on the following day they entered Caesarea. Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends. When Peter entered, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him. But Peter lifted him up, saying, “Stand up; I too am a man.” — Acts 10:24-26
I love this encounter. Remember Cornelius commands 100 soldiers of Roman, yet when he sees Peter, he falls to his feet. And then Peter responds by grabbing him under the arms and lifts him up, not taking any advantage at the moment to seek his own glory. I love this encounter. It's sweet. I wish we had a snapshot of this moment.
There is something supernatural about two God-fearing humble men coming together. One from one walk of life. One from another. It produces powerful outcomes.
In fact, I have not directly stated this in the last few devotionals, but the interaction between Peter and Cornelius is one of the great markers for the Gospel in the Bible. This is not only a meeting between two men, but it is the moment that the Gospel is revealed to not only Jews (as is Peter) but Gentiles (as is Cornelius).
But here's the deal. I believe we see revelations like this every time two God-fearing, humble men come together. Two men who come together in a desire to be obedient to God hear, see, and experience outcomes that are great than any results we may attempt to achieve on their own.
This is why men need spiritual brothers. Brothers to walk with, confide in, and rely on. Without these men in our lives, we will become lifeless. These men point us to a God to be worshiped when we are worshipping the wrong things. They are men who lift us up when we get down for the wrong reasons.
If you don't have one of these men in your life, then you need one today. Reach out to one or be one. And I bet if you asked God to reveal one to you, he might just as he did to these two men here.
ASK THIS: Do you have a spiritual brother in your life?
DO THIS: If you do, name him. If you don't, get one. If you want to be one, reach out to one. But don't do nothing.
PRAY THIS: God, I need to be a better brother. Reveal a spiritual brother to me today as you did in the life of Peter and Cornelius.
PLAY THIS: Brother — Jordan Feliz.

I have many currently, but my mentor Bryan is the first one that comes to mind.
Jeff my brother in the Lord
I ask God often to reveal to me who that spiritual Brother is for me to do life with, I haven’t had that since the one Brother had got called home a couple years ago. It seems like I pour into men but I have no one close to walk through life with, I will continue to press on. In the Special Forces they have Operators, they are trained to function solo when separated from their unit, this is how I have learned to get through life .

I know a few guys that would make a great spiritual brother. I put off asking one of them, praying for courage to reach out to one.
Thank you Vince for your tireless effort to bring the gospel to “us” everyday. I always look forward to listening to you when I start my day.
God please bring the Christian man / men into my like and let me be wise enough to recognize them.
Abner, I am thankful for God bringing him into my life he’s truly a blessing.
Thanks for putting these devotionals in my inbox. They are helpful and encouraging.

I am blessed to have many and do my best to reach out to them weekly and if I’m lucky, occasionally meet for coffee, food or volunteering. We can always have more though so if anyone needs a friend, I’m here. I also recommend Vince’s mentor program. It’s a Bible study and then some via zoom, led by Vince and the mentors. Several of my friends come from this program. Members are from all over the world yet it’s small enough to have your voice heard weekly. If you like his devotionals you will love this.
If you live near the Twin Ports area and need a godly group of guys to come along side you, get a hold of me.
Two is good, three is better…. But that’s a different verse.
My closest spiritual brother is Michael G. We met in a detox facility 13 years ago this week and now lift up each other on a regular basis.
I need a spiritual brother.
I am willing to come along side you brother.
I’m blessed to have two God fearing spiritual brothers in my life.
Hmmmm…… 😎

Chris is my spiritual brother, God knew what he was doing when he put us together 30 years ago. Just like you mentioned Vince, two very different men but with one goal, one heart and one mindset. We’ve been through hard times, good times, incredible fun times, we’re prayer partners and brothers who confront, support and love one another. There are no secrets between us which brings our walk even closer together.
My Emmaus re-union partner..Thomas.
My actual brother Don, is the closest I have to a spiritual brother.
