Unceasing Prayer

ENGLISH

Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints—Ephesians 6:18

I think when this life ends and eternity begins, most of us will look back thinking, "I wish I would have prayed more!" But here's the good news, we can change that right now by learning to pray at all times. And this activity is going to challenge you to unlearn something. It will challenge you to unlearn trusting only in your effort, strategies, abilities, networks, ideas, and opinions. This means you'll have to become less reliant on yourself and more reliant on the Spirit. And to that end, you'll have to walk through your day using new spiritual "muscles," becoming spiritually alert—attentive to opportunities before you every moment. And you don't have to walk around praying out loud. You just have to see, walk, and talk to God spiritually aware that our spiritual reality is more real than the human experience. One way to do this is to make supplication for someone else—another brother in the Lord. Paul calls them saints. So try it today. Pray for another brother, not yourself. Pray all day and see if you don't start seeing differently.

ASK THIS: Who is someone you want to pray for today?

DO THIS: Write down their name and carry it with you all day. Each time you think of them, pray!

PRAY THIS: God, I remember my brother ____________

PLAY THIS: Bethel Music: Raise a Hallelujah
